Mutt Rider Tommy Clarke | Carve Your Own Path. #CYOP
Earlier this month we caught up with Aerial Photographer, Mutt rider and Studio Owner Tommy Clarke in Hoxton, London to chat more about his Mongrel 125cc. Mutt is becoming a bit of an extended family so we’re always fascinated to meet owners, hear their story and find out what makes them tick.
Tommy ripped around the corner towards us reeving his Mongrel and all eyes were on him. Fresh off a flight from a film set, to shooting with us and about to fly off for a month producing a new series of aerial photography, we’re privileged he was so keen to make to time to shoot with us.
From hanging out of helicopters to chasing hurricanes, the first thing we had to ask him, “how did you manage to get a job hanging out of helicopters taking photographs?” It wasn’t until he was living in Sydney that he embarked on his first aerial shoot over Bondi Beach, capturing the colourful surfboards strewn across the beach which became his first series - Shore. Since then @tommy.clarke has been hanging out of helicopters and small aircraft everywhere from San Francisco and Mexico to the Canary Islands and Utah.
His studio is based in Clapham, London and you can check out some of this art at www.tommyclarke.co.uk
With over a year under his belt on a 125 Mongrel, often is parked up in the middle of his gallery space/studio, Tommy is ready to go bigger and is currently specifying a custom Mutt into a 250cc with us here in Birmingham, England.
Of course, when we met up all Tommy wanted to is talk about his future custom Mutt, whilst we just want to talk about his amazing work and geek out on camera technicals and helicopters.
